The Couts family has a lengthy history and have been verified as far back to 1221 in Lincolnshire, England. Male Y DNA chromosone test has verified the passing of this chromosone from Father to Son throughout generations. Couts was originally spelled Coates. There are several related families of Couts, Coutts, Coats and Coates.
Based on actual facts and from a diary of Aunt Elizabeth "Betty", the story evolves over generations and shows how Coats thread has woven a story through the ages. Some writer imaginative flares are included to enhance the story.
